Q: Are there restrooms on the train?
A: Unfortunately due to the historical nature of the equipment restrooms are unavailable on the train.
Q: How do I purchase tickets?
A: Tickets for our regular trips are available at the train station in Kempton the day of your trip. Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure to allow time to purchase your tickets and board the train. Please note that special event train rides may require reservations. Please visit our special events page for more information.
Q: How do I purchase tickets for a special event train?
A: Tickets for special events trains may be purchased on our website.
Q: Can you eat on the train?
A: Due to the historical nature of our equipment only bottled water is allowed on board.
Q: I would love to have my birthday/wedding/bridal show/other special event at the railroad. Can I do that?
A: Of course you can! If you would like to charter a train, coach or caboose please visit our charter a train. If you would like to host an event on our grounds please contact us!
Q: Where do I park?
A: We have plenty of free parking adjacent to our station.
Q: What do I get with my ticket?
A: Tickets for our regularly scheduled trips include unlimited all day rides. Special events are a one ride only ticket.
Q: How can I pay for my ticket?
A: We accept visa, master card, discover, and cash.
Q: What else can we do?
Make sure to visit the Schuylkill and Lehigh Model railroad, our gift shop and our snack bar.
Q: Can I bring my pets?
A: Well behaved dogs on leashes are welcomed.
Q: What time does the 2:00 train depart?
A: All kidding aside we do depart on time and cannot alter our trains for late timers. Please make sure you arrive 15 minutes prior to departure.
Q: Are seats reserved on the train?
A: All regular trains and special events do not have reserved seating but check our special events page to see if you must reserve a ticket.
Q: Do you reschedule for weather?
A: Trips run rain or shine.
Q: Are you trains handicapped accessible?
A: Due to the historical nature of our equipment our coaches are not ADA accessible. However please contact us to discuss any special needs you may have and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Q: Is there heating and A/C on the train?
A: Absolutely! During the winter our coaches are heated traditionally with steam heat. In the summer, open the windows and enjoy the beautiful mountain fresh air!
Q: Do you offer Gift Certificates?
A: Yes! Our gift certificates are available in increments of $10 only and are available for purchase at the station or by mailing your order to WK&S, Inc. P.O. Box 24, Kempton, PA 19529. Please reference your check: Gift Certificates. Gift certificates must be presented at time of ticket purchase (WK&S is not responsible for lost or stolen certificates.) No expiration date. When a certificate is used, if there is money left over on the certificate, we will give cash for the difference. Gift certificates may not be used for online ticket purchasing.
